Thanks for continuing to run this valuable service. My husband and I met
at one of your speed dating nights last year, and since then we've been busy
dating, getting married, and we're expecting our first child any week now.
We are so incredibly happy together. It just goes to show you that you can
meet your soulmate anytime, anywhere, you just have to get out there and meet
people, and speed dating is a great way to do that. We're both a bit shy, so
it was helpful to be forced into talking to each other. You know you've met
someone special when the 6 minutes seems like the blink of an eye and you just
want it to go on and on. That feeling has never gone away yet!

The innovative speed dating service allows singles to meet up to a dozen members of the opposite sex in one evening at a variety of locations across the city. They arrange the groups of people by age, with specific evenings for specific age ranges. And occasionally, Edmonton Date Night also organizes groups based on common interests, like sports or travel. Hi Kevin,

Last year on July 31st 2006 I had attended your speed dating night. I had dated a few times before and had decided that a change in perspective and approach was needed. I had found Edmonton Speed Dating during on search on Google one evening. I immediately signed up. The night of the event I met 9 women. The first woman I met had caught my attention at first glance because she was wearing a cool t-shirt and I have a thing for cool shirts. I remember commenting on her clothing and talking about our love for music during our first minute or two of our talk and I was interested in talking further. Her name was Andrea...

Well Kevin, Andrea and I have been together for a year as of today, tonight we are returning to the Urban Diner to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and to continue our ever loving relationship in the years to come.

I do have a word of advise for anyone thinking about doing a date night. Have no expectations, be yourself, enjoy yourself and show it. It's OK to be nervous and don't worry about showing it, because you're both there for the same reason and each of you understand how difficult this journey can be.

Thanks for keeping me up to date. To let you know, I’ve met someone thru one of your event last November. We’ve been dating since and things are progressing nicely. I must commend you Kevin! Steeps was great venue to have your speed date at! Also the 2:00 afternoon time was great as well! Very impressed with the selection of ladies today!

I attended the speed dating event last Monday evening at the Druid on Jasper Ave and I wanted to thank you for putting on such a great event. I was somewhat skeptical at first but once the whistle went off, it turned out to be fun

I returned for my second kick at the cat sort of speak, even though I had crashed and burned on my last attempt. The date was Jan 7/04 at the Overtime, I recall around 16 men and 16 women were in the group. I can honestly say that I had a descent conversation with all of the women. There was no falsity here all genuinely nice people, I had selected four that I had found an interest in, I had spoken to two briefly and the third...

The third, I spoke to for three hours; one dead cell phone and a race down the hall to a payphone to continue our conversation. We went on a couple of dates and spoke to each other for hours at a time. I couldn't spend enough time with her. Just as things were going great, I got the call to duty and was to be sent overseas to serve in Haiti.

Long story short, you want a success story. I met a lovely lady at your event on Jan 7/04 and now I am in love with her, I want to spend the rest of my life with her and I have you to thank for the opportunity of meeting her. I thank you.

"I have tried Internet dating and found it really tiring and time consuming. For my busy schedule this was just a great opportunity to meet others and only took a few hours out of my busy week. As a single parent the added bonus was only having to pay for a babysitter for one evening and getting to meet 9 single men in that time.
